Influential Teacher
One inspirational teacher I had was from high school. She taught Geography and DP US History which I had no interest in too but somehow she made me want to learn. Although other students were not on the same boat with even retaliation for the way she taught. She took this to heart and had a conversation with the class about what should be done and what she should improve on. She listened but she also stood her group on why she did certain things and did not change. I personally saw this and thought this is how I want to be a person who listens but does not back down in what I believe in.
This is how she inspired and the one who helped me strive for my path at CSULB School of Arts. I was insistent on a path by my parents which was to stay home and get to CSULA and become a nursing or business major. That is something I did not want to but believed was my only choice. She heard about my predicament and offered to be a lending ear. She told me how she was in a similar situation but she strove what she wanted. Now I am happy with the outcome and I should do the same. She was the first adult to validate my own path. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to be a teacher to be a person to be surrounded by my passions and be able to support a student.
